Next up is our sales and Business Development Manager, David Pierce. With a long-standing commitment to the business since 1998 (across two spells), David plays a key role in driving growth and building strong relationships with our customers.

Q&A with David

How long have you been at Stewart Technology?

Since 1998 on and off! (Two spells with the company)

What is your favourite part of your role or project you’ve contributed to?

Growth

What snack or drink gets you through the day?

Sadly, a chocolate biscuit and a glass or two of H2O

What is your favourite piece of equipment in the factory?

High speed Surface Mount – (always impressed by the fact that it has “eyes”) 😊

What is a typical day like?

My role is like “fishing” – I keep trying with little luck until suddenly, one day, “bang” a fish appears!

What are your hobbies outside of work?

My three daughters and their families are my main hobby! I am also a keen walker, I have an older MX-5 that I like to maintain and drive to far off places (Lake Garda and the Swiss Alps this year).

What is your favourite movie or TV show?

The Martian is a cool movie. Oh, and I’m a secret Mr Bean fan!

What is one insight from your role that you think clients or partners would find useful?

There has to be much more to manufacturing than a cold business proposal – it’s all about relationships trust and communication.

Surprise fact!

In my past I have built many things that although were fashionable at the time soon went into landfill – CD players, Mini Systems, DVD Players and Plasma TVs! It’s a pleasure to be building long lasting industrial and medical technology…!!
