Last week, the Stewart Technology team had the pleasure of attending the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show in Farnborough. Representing us at the show were Operations Director Stewart Robertson, Head of Sales David Pierce and Graduate Sales Trainee Shannon Taitt.

For David and Stewart, this marked their fifth consecutive year exhibiting at the show, giving them the opportunity to build on long-standing relationships and reconnect with familiar faces across the industry. For Shannon, it was her first time exhibiting at a trade show – a fantastic introduction to the world of manufacturing events. Experiencing the pace and variety of a large industry event first-hand was a brilliant way to see how everything comes together beyond day-to-day business.

The sun even managed to make it out for Day 2 at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre

Throughout the three days, we had a wide range of productive conversations. It was great to meet potential new customers and learn more about their projects and challenges, while also catching up with existing customers and suppliers to strengthen relationships and discuss what’s next. Events like this are invaluable to see how the industry is evolving, share ideas and understand where our electronics manufacturing services can add real value.

One of the clearest trends we noticed throughout the show was the growing number of companies looking to move outsourced manufacturing back to the UK from overseas. Many discussions focused around the need for greater control, improved communication, supply chain resilience and confidence in quality – areas that many companies told us they are actively looking to address by finding a trusted UK-based electronics manufacturing partner.

The energy and innovation on display across the show floor was inspiring and it was exciting to see the latest developments in manufacturing and electronics up close. It was encouraging to see such a high level of engagement across these sectors, reinforcing how important collaboration and quality remains in this area.

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to the team at Easyfairs and all the staff at Southern Manufacturing for organising such a well-run event. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly, making it a positive experience for both exhibitors and visitors.

We left Farnborough feeling motivated and optimistic about the opportunities ahead. We came away with new contacts, strengthened relationships and plenty of ideas to follow up on. A huge thank you to everyone who visited our stand, shared insights, or simply stopped by to say hello – it was fantastic to see so many familiar and new faces.

We’re already looking forward to the 2027 show and can’t wait to return with more news, innovations and the same enthusiasm for connecting with the manufacturing and electronics community!
